LETS SUCCEED TOGETHER

Image
I want to become a biologist, like my mom. I'm Celeste from Nicaragua, I'm 22 years old and I want to become a biologist, like my mother. I moved to Norway for my studies, driven by the cruel repression the regime imposes to the people in my country - wherever I am, this is a part of me, of how I see the world, how I see others, how I set my goals. I can't see myself succeeding without supporting the people I connect with and contributing to the changes I want to see happening, I want to like myself even more in a few years and I know it's not going to happen if I live with my eyes closed. As a woman, in every period of my life and in every single place I've been, there are always man interrupting me, speaking louder than me, and other man and woman following their thread, I'd like to see us women following our female thread, knitting it together, making it dense, rock-hard, so nothing comes between us.

FOCUS ON YOUR JOURNEY AND MAKE YOURSELF PROUD

Image
My name is Kanyo Shandu and this is my story: I know how it feels: To be academically excluded from an Institution To be seen and to feel like a failure To feel like you are behind your peers To feel worthless To be depressed To have multiple people talking bad about you behind your back To feel lost and confused. . . I ALSO know how it feels: To keep going when the going gets tough To rise above tribulations and winning I know how it feels to fix your life and make yourself proud. . . Your life journey is your responsibility and yours alone, no one is coming to save you, that's your job. If you get knocked down in the process, you get back up and move forward. You limp or crawl if you have to. Your past and failures are here to guide and teach you. So take the lessons, do not let them break or harden you. You are here and you are still breathing for a reason. You can't change yesterday but you can create a better today and tomorrow. Forget about everyone

KNOW WHAT TO PRIORITISE

I always aim to make someone smile This is Talent Maunganidze popularly known as “kcueda” yes that’s just a pseudo name l inherited during my high school days so that l avoid using my name . I am 28 years old and one independent , crazy, outspoken and  mostly beautiful young lady who has earned two degrees at a younger age . I hold a Degree in Criminal Justice System Degree and a Law Degree both from University of Botswana. Growing up, l always believed l would be an actress or a stage performer for all purposes just to be entertaining people. I remember during my first year in University l used to think maybe l should just go and join one of those local dramas. My interest was always to put a smile to the person around my being , and that came naturally , just uttering of a word one would laugh. However , growing up shapes a person that may have never been inside but circumstances and other surrounding factors and how one is nurtured may give you a different passion and define

NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM

Image
Hello I am Monica Grace Mushayi. Grew up from a very humble background and by the grace of God am now a qualified medical doctor. I love my work,I love children hoping to become a paediatrician or neonatologist one day. I like watching TV and dancing (not a good dancer  ) and fun talks with friends .I love God and I cannot imagine my life without Him.I realised I am quite patient with people.I have always wanted to become a doctor from a young age and I have never imagined myself doing anything else. God has been my sustainer. My parents, relatives and friends have been my motivators too..strong support system. I kept my faith through it all My greatest challenge was not getting the required points at A'level ( had taken Physics which was not my strength instead of Biology for A level as one of my subjects as people around me thought Physics was the best for my combination with Maths and Chemistry )The points were not enough to make it into University of Zimbabwe and National

YOU ARE LIMITLESS, AFFIRM THIS TO YOURSELF

I am a proud mother of two beautiful girls. Funny enough growing up I was not as outspoken and opinionated as I am today. I was a victim of bullying. Yes me...I was. I know its hard to believe for some people. However as I grew up I started to see everything that was wrong with the world. Three things have been reference points in terms of inspiration in my life. I vow to chart my own path, and encourage you to the same  Being a spectator to injustice in any form left me irritable. I couldn't stomach the impunity and I  decided to take the legal route as a profession. For me all that you need know about this world except things to do with spirituality the starting point should always be WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY? I always draw inspiration from my family especially on my dad's side who are highly independent and intellectuals par excellence. They inculcated a reading culture from a very young age. A hunger for knowledge was something I grew up surrounded with. My father ( ble

RISE AGAIN

Image
My name is Karen Nyaradzai Mutumi. I am a girl aged 24 and I am the first born in a family of 3. I was basically raised in Manicaland specifically in Nyamaropa a beautiful place in the heart of  Nyanga. Currently  I am pursuing my career in Science Education at Mutare teachers college. Apart from that I enjoy decorating, baking and designing. I am an entrepreneur and business woman who has a heart for farming. When you fall remember to rise.   Like every strong  woman I have an inspiring story to tell and I owe everything to my mother who raised me to be independent. I can safely say she is my muse and role model. During the course of life we had our ups and downs but we made it through by learning to face our problems and think outside the box. I have learnt not only to pray but also take action, so after kneeling down I would get up with enough strength and hope to face the day and change my situation. Along the way you learn that not everyone will stand by you and cheer you on

We fix each others crowns, We have each other's backs.

We Fix Each Others Crowns I am Justyna and  I am  a 22 year old polish girl living in Norway since 2016.  I am studying translations at University of Agder and I love literature , cooking and being with other people.  My motivation  was the book (of course) by L.M Montgomery,' Anne of Green Gables'. Story of beautiful, strong girl who was not accepting the world as it was.  When it comes to the challenges in life,I think my biggest challenge was turning my passion into reality. This was reflected when I had to actually start using the language that I was learning, which was Norwegian. It took me many months and sleepless nights to even start understanding people, and to start speaking the language myself but I made it through and I am glad I persevered. In many cases women do not support or celebrate each other and it has been noted as the main reason why some people do not make it in life , I wouldn’t call it the main reason, but definitely  it is a big problem in our

Every Passion Has Its Destiny

Don't just work hard, work smart as well. Hello, my name is Xuxa Gara. I am 23 years of age and currently working as a laboratory scientist in a research laboratory. I am a recent graduate from University of Zimbabwe and was studying BSc Hon in Forensic Science specializing in Biology and Biochemistry. I was at Saint David's Bonda for my high school, a place I owe a lot for the person I am today. I am interested in research and investigations...generally finding why certain things are the way they are and finding out new things. I realised I was good in science subjects from a young age especially Biology and Mathematics. I then thought due to my Biology inclination, medicine would be my portion. During high school I realized I wouldn't want to be doctor became it wouldn't fully fulfill the person I wanted to be. So I did my research and I realised to be able to merge my academics and my interest in research, forensic science would be a good field for me. I

Her Determination Made Me a STEM Graduate

Image
Her determination made me a STEM graduate Barbara McClintock once said that if you know you are on the right track, if you have this inner knowledge, then nobody can turn you off no matter what they say. When we look at women in STEM we are proud of the progress and we appreciate their charisma and intelligence. Our journey towards gender equality and quality education for all especially in the STEM sector has not been an easy one and we still have a long way to go. Fortunately enough we get some motivation every now and again to keep the fire burning. Lethu a Ndebele queen and animal scientist is one remarkable woman who has chosen to share her story and celebrate the woman behind her academic success. The fate of cultural divide In a world of diversity and cultural differences it is difficult to strike a common ground. Such was the story of my parents, as my mother a Shona lady got married to a Ndebele man. Their marriage was doomed to fail considering it was formed just afte

Lets do this...

Image
Valerie Luther once said"A strong woman accepts both compliments and criticism graciously, knowing that it takes both sunshine and rain for flowers to grow", you should learn to filter and discern what is necessary for your journey in life to go on. More often than not women face more criticism than compliments from other women. If there is enough air for everyone to breathe then there is enough space for everyone to chase their dream without pulling someone else down. I dedicate my 2019 to celebrating as many women as possible... Lets do this In a bid to motivate and inspire women out there I will start by sharing my experiences, mistakes and success in each sector, as we will embark on this journey I look forward to sharing stories on different women in each category. We also have the solidarity page for victims of different forms of abuse these stories will go under the banner Moana`s diaries. Beauty with Brains All beauty comes from a beautiful blood and a beauti
